A Perthshire Wedding | The Byre at Inchyra

If you were looking for a very high-end barn wedding then you will love The Byre at Inchyra, so we were over the moon to be invited there again for the wedding photography of Lucy & Michael.

The Byre at Inchyra is another of our very favourite wedding venues in Scotland and just a few miles from us in sunny Perthshire!

The Byre itself is a beautifully restored, rustic barn set in 150 acres of private parkland. About an hour from Glasgow and Edinburgh, close to both Perth and Dundee. The atmospheric barn was the perfect venue for the wedding of L&M.

The Byre at Inchyra is a blank canvas venue. This meant that L&M had the freedom to create their own individual wedding. There is individual onsite accommodation for both the bridal party and the boys on the evening before the wedding, so no last minute travelling to the wedding venue on the day!

The main feature is a traditional stone barn which houses several spaces and is ideal for any size of wedding. The intimate Stable Room is perfect for up to 110 guests, or you can hold the ceremony in the Lower Byre which seats 160 guests.

If you’d prefer to marry outside, there are lots of amazing spaces around the country estate. With a romantic Walled Garden, orchard tree avenues and stately views on the lawn in front of Inchrya House you will find the perfect setting for your wedding.

A Walled Garden Wedding Ceremony

Lucy and the girls decided on the main house bridal suite for their morning preparations, while the boys were in one of the cottages just a few meters from the Byre.

L&M decided to hold their ceremony in the walled garden in the beautiful Perthshire sunshine and wanted to include drinking from a quaich into their ceremony, with Michael holding the quaich above his head to show that he had finished ALL of the finest single malt whisky!

After the ceremony, Paula followed the guests on the short walk back to the byre to capture the candid photos at the drinks reception, while L&M stayed with me in the walled garden for their couple photographs. We also had time to go to the amazing Moon Gate where it is good luck for newlyweds to make a point of walking through the specially commissioned sculpture by the renowned Trevor Leat.

As all of the amazing couple photo locations are just a few minutes apart, L&M still had lots of time to spend with their guests back at the drinks reception.

After speeches, a wedding feast provided by the brilliant Regis Banqueting in the byre, then it was ‘first dance’ time. Hardly had N&P time to gather their breath when the band cranked up the volume and the ceilidh dances brought everyone onto the dance floor!

We are so grateful to Lucy & Michael for having us as their Byre at Inchyra wedding photographers, what a magical day!
