One of the things we've always loved about wedding photography is the people it brings into our lives. Over the years, we've travelled across Scotland, discovering beautiful places, sharing in wonderful celebrations and getting to know couples whose stories have stayed with us long after their wedding day. Every wedding is different, and that's what makes our work so rewarding. For us, it's never been just about taking photographs. It's about the people we meet, the friendships we make and the privilege of being invited to share in such an important day.
A little bit about us...
Brian O'Neill
PHOTOGRAPHER
Photography has been part of my life for as long as I can remember. My father was a professional photographer, and one of my earliest memories is being handed a camera and a roll of film, with the instruction to make every frame count. I was fascinated from the beginning, particularly by the unposed photographs of people simply enjoying life.
I went on to study photography at Edinburgh Napier University, graduating with a BA (Hons) in Photography. My studies covered both traditional film and digital photography, giving me a solid technical and creative foundation.
Since starting Crieff Photography with Paula in 2012, I’ve had the pleasure of photographing weddings in some extraordinary places and meeting people whose stories have stayed with me long afterwards.
What I enjoy most is capturing those genuine, unscripted moments. A fleeting expression, an unexpected laugh or a quiet exchange between two people can often say far more than a carefully arranged photograph.
I’ve always believed that photography should be enjoyable, both for the people in front of the camera and for the person behind it. And after all these years, I still get the same pleasure from picking up a camera as I did when I was handed that first roll of film.

I’ve been photographing weddings alongside Brian since we started Crieff Photography in 2012, and I still love the excitement, emotion and wonderful unpredictability of every wedding day.
I have a Master’s degree in Fine Art and also teach art, design and photography, so creativity is a big part of both my working life and my interests outside it. I particularly enjoy working with natural light, colour and composition, as well as noticing the smaller details that can make a photograph so special.
At weddings, I love capturing everything that’s happening around the main events. The laughter between friends, the reactions during speeches, the little exchanges between family members and all those spontaneous moments that might otherwise go unnoticed.
I’m also a bit of a wedding enthusiast. I love the dresses, flowers, shoes and all the individual touches that make each celebration different. And yes, I can probably recognise a pair of Jimmy Choos from quite a distance!
Away from photography, some of my favourite things include dogs, coffee, Italy, art galleries, new shoes, Kate Bush and, of course, Brian.
What I enjoy most about photographing weddings is getting to know the people involved, sharing in the atmosphere of the day and capturing the moments that make each celebration unique.
