A Scottish Wedding At Rossie on the Earn
We were so excited to be at Rossie on the Earn for the wedding photography of Sarah & Dan. They were joined by Dan’s fellow RAF servicemen as well as lots of guests jetting in from all points of the world for their wedding celebrations at Rossie on the Earn.
As Rossie on the Earn wedding photographers, we find it an absolute pleasure to photograph awesome weddings there. It does help that we know that area very well as we stay just a few miles from Rossie!
Rossie on the Earn is a stunning new wedding venue immersed in the Perthshire countryside. The blank canvas rustic byre is the centrepiece of the venue, but also also offers a romantic 30 acre woodland garden for wedding ceremonies, reception drinks and amazing photographs as well as onsite accommodation so the couple opted to stay in the cottages on the evening before their wedding.

Sarah & Dan decided that having 2 photographers to cover their wedding was the only way to capture all of the special moments from the beginning to the end of their big day.
Paula met Sarah and the bridal party in the morning to capture the girls getting ready, while at the same time I met Dan & the boys. The couple loved how we time sync our cameras so that the photos in the final gallery appear in the order of capture time, so Sarah & Dan were able to see what they were both doing at the same time afterwards.
A heartfelt ceremony unfolded in the Byre, including a rousing rendition of ‘Caledonia’ and it really was a delightful mixture of emotion and humour.
Following the wedding ceremony in age old tradition, a military sword arch was formed and Sarah & Dan proceeded through to cheers from all their lovely guests!
The drinks reception was held outside the Byre which offers spectacular views over the Perthshire countryside. We left the guests to enjoy a glass of fizz while we disappeared to take Sarah & Dan’s couple shots around the Byre. The beauty of Rossie on the Earn is that there are so many fabulous locations to visit within just a few minutes walk from the main venue. We took a wander around the Byre, the courtyard, gardens, the surrounding fields and still returned to the drinks reception before the guests missed the couple too much.
After speeches, with a hearty feast in the byre to follow, it was time to hit the dance floor. The band played the couples favourite song for their first dance together with a few ceilidh dances thrown in afterwards for good measure!

It is always amazing working with some of the best wedding suppliers in Scotland. John Tonner brought his relaxed style, leading to Sarah & Dan’s emotional, but fun filled ceremony in the fabulous byre setting at Rossie on the Earn.
It’s always an honour to be working again with Background Edit Weddings and Helen McNeill and I was also fortunate as ever to have my talented wife Paula as my second photographer—as always thank you for your help in capturing every special moment of Sarah & Dan’s wedding celebration at Rossie on the Earn!
