A Wedding Ceremony in the Drawing Room
Some weddings just feel special from the moment you arrive and Jenny and Jon’s day at Crieff Hydro Hotel was exactly that. Set against the rolling Perthshire countryside, the venue gave us the perfect mix of timeless Scottish elegance and wild natural beauty.
From a photographer’s point of view, Crieff Hydro is a dream. Within minutes you can move from grand historic architecture to lush gardens and then out to dramatic mountain backdrops which is exactly what we did for Jenny and Jon’s couple portraits and first look photos.
Some moments on a wedding day are loud and full of celebration. Others are quiet, emotional and deeply personal. Jenny and Jon chose to begin their wedding day with a first look at a viewpoint close to Crieff Hydro Hotel and it was one of the most beautiful, genuine moments of their entire day.
Away from guests, speeches and timelines, this was just about the two of them seeing each other for the first time and it couldn’t have been more perfect.
Their ceremony was held in the Drawing Room, heartfelt and personal, surrounded by family and friends who clearly adore them. Crieff Hydro offers beautiful ceremony spaces that feel elegant but still warm and welcoming, the perfect setting for couples wanting a relaxed, but looking fir a stylish Scottish wedding venue.
The bride & parents aisle walk was unforgettable, and the moment they were announced as newlyweds was met with huge cheers and applause.
And what a dip walking back up the aisle!
After the ceremony, guests enjoyed drinks while we captured relaxed, natural photos. This part of the day is always brilliant for storytelling photography; real laughs, hugs, and genuine reactions.
Crieff Hydro’s grounds make this especially easy, with stunning backdrops to enjoy a glass of fizz on the back lawn.
Speeches are always one of our favourite parts to photograph with real reactions, big smiles, and those proud family moments.
The evening celebrations kicked off with their first dance with some amazing lifts & dips from the couple, followed by a packed dance floor and an incredible party atmosphere. It was the perfect ending to an already unforgettable day.
