A Scottish Wedding At Comrie Croft

We were delighted to be back again at Comrie Croft for the wedding photography of Natalie & Patrick. The Croft is one of our very favourite wedding venues in Scotland and so we consider ourselves very fortunate that it is practically on our doorstep!

Comrie Croft is a magnificent venue for a sustainable barn wedding and also has lots of onsite accommodation so most guests don’t have to travel to the wedding on the day, or find their way home after dancing the night away.

It’s all possible with Comrie Croft’s farmstead 60 bed eco-lodge, courtyard, heated barn and other spaces that are exclusively for the wedding. But, like all sensible brides, Natalie reserved the Farmhouse for her and the girls to stay in the night before the wedding. There are also more glamping options like staying in the Nordic Katas or camping in the woods and meadows. There’s even an onsite sauna; Nowhere Sauna is a handcrafted wood fired sauna, nestled amongst the trees by The Mill Pond at Comrie Croft. So if you are a fan of Scandinavian style health and relaxation, then this one is quite an experience!

A Woodland Wedding Ceremony

Like most of our couples, Natalie & Patrick wanted 2 photographers at their wedding to capture all of the special moments, from both of their morning preparations, to the final fling at night.

Paula met Natalie and the bridesmaids in the farmhouse in the morning to capture the girls getting ready, while I met Patrick and the boys at the same time for a pre-wedding shoot. I often meet the boys in the morning to capture them getting ready too, but Patrick decided to wait until the boys were all sporting their kilts and ready to go.

A beautiful ceremony unfolded in the glorious woodland, with celebrant Vivienne Hyndman bringing her relaxed style to the very intimate ceremony.

Natalie & Patrick wanted to seal their bond by sharing a traditional drink from a quaich, so it was dram of their favourite single malt whisky that was the tipple of choice!

After the ceremony, the guests left us to meander back to the courtyard for the drinks reception while I had some quiet time with N&P to capture a few moments with them together in the woodland, high meadow (and even made time in the evening for couple shots in the courtyard).

We like to think that we didn’t miss a single moment from N&P’s joyous wedding as Paula followed the guests back to the drinks reception to photograph everyone mingling and enjoying glasses of fizz in the Perthshire sunshine, so in N&P’s gallery they were still able to see what was going on while we were away!

Speeches followed with a magnificent wedding breakfast provided by the incredible Breaking Bread Catering in the barn, then time to hit the dance floor. The band played the couples favourite song for their first dance followed by a few very energetic ceilidh dances thrown in afterwards for good measure!

Thank you so much Natalie & Patrick for having us as your Comrie Croft wedding photographers. We won’t forget this one in a while!

Scotland's Best Rossie on the Earn Suppliers

It is always amazing working with some of the best wedding suppliers in Scotland. Celebrant Vivienne Hyndman brought her relaxed style, leading to Natalie & Patrick’s emotional, but fun filled ceremony in the fabulous woodland setting at Comrie Croft.

It’s always an honour to be working again with makeup artist Helen McNeill and as ever I was also fortunate to have my talented wife Paula as my second photographer – as always thank you for your help in capturing every special moment of Natalie & Patrick’s  wedding celebration at Comrie Croft. Lastly, thank you to all of the suppliers on the day, what a fabulous team!
