Woodland wedding at the Hermitage Perthshire

HAMISH & KATE//

Kate and Hamish’s wedding photography of their beautiful rustic wedding at the Hermitage in Dunkeld had to tell their story…Kate and Hamish met when they were just 16 and had just the kind of wedding that we LOVE to shoot – relaxed, rustic, creative, laughter filled and most of all FUN! We started the day in Birnham, and split into the boys and girls camps – that’s the joy of working as a couple – we get to tell your story fully and not just in posed snippets. Team Bride had great fun as it had also been Kate’s mum’s 60th birthday that week – lots of bubbles, beauty and those green velvet gowns which were to die for. Kate was as individual and stylish a bride as we have seen – a custom made two piece with velvet cowl and that rose gold Zara biker jacket. What was so special was the attention to detail in everything, from the Shoes of Prey shoes in the signature colours of rose gold, green and fuscia, to the green bridesmaids also in biker jackets and stunning florals by a family friend. The boys had a relaxed morning, got suited and kilted and then headed off to the ceremony in a very cool blue VW camper.

The ceremony took place in a cleared woodland setting with handmade touches of a floral rustic and copper backdrop, copper wire sculptures dangling in the breeze and a petal strewn aisle. As you might expect from a ceremony in the woods – it was simply beautiful and very moving. Bubbles of a blown then drinkable kind, led on to the most raucous group shot we’ve had the pleasure of taking and then back to The Arts centre at Birnham for dinner and ceilidh dancing – a fabulous day and evening.

Thank you Kate and Hamish for a simply awesome day. Look out for more from this stylish wedding which will be featured soon on the Scottish wedding blogWe Fell in Love.
